Dirk P. Haubrich was born in 1966 in Saarbrücken, Germany. During a 4 year residence in London he studied composition and improvisation with Phillip Wachsmann. Dirk P. Haubrich moved to The Hague, the Netherlands, to study at the Royal Conservatory ‘Sonology’, electronic music composition. His love for dance and stage elaborated while working with the Frankfurt Ballet and Billy Forsythe in Eidos-Telos. In the field of dance Haubrich composed many pieces in the collaborations with Jirí Kylián, Krisztina de Châtel, Bruno Listopad, Yoko Seyama 瀬山葉子, Wang Yuanyuan 王媛媛, Megumi Nakamura 中村恩恵, Jitti Chompee and Shen Wei 沈伟. He premiered his pieces in various theaters around the world. Currently he lives in Berlin, Germany.

Dirk Haubrich wurde 1966 in Saarbrücken geboren und studierte Komposition und Improvisation bei Philip Wachsmann in London. Ab 1993 studierte er am Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag Elektronische Komposition bei Clarence Barlow und Joel Ryan. Seit seinem Abschluss 1998 komponiert er für modernes Ballett und zeitgenössischen Tanz. Sein Interesse dafür begann 1995 mit „Eidos : Telos“ für das Ballett Frankfurt und William Forsythe. 2000-2010 entstanden Kompositionen für Jiří Kylián: „Click-Pause-Silence“, „27‘52‘‘“, „Blackbird“, „Claude Pascal“, „When Time takes Time“, „Far to close“, „Last Touch first“, „Il faut qu’une porte“, Sleepless“, „Toss of a Dice“, „Tar and Feathers“, „Vanishing Twin“, „Zugvögel“ und „Mémoires d’Oubliette“. Zudem komponierte er für Choreografien von Krisztina de Chatel, Bruno Listopad, Megumi Nakamura 中村恩恵, Anouk van Dijk, Michael Schumacher, Medhi Walerski, Sjoerd Vreugtenhil, Karine Guizzo, Allison Brown, Jérôme Meyer und Isabelle Chaffaut, Pedro Goucha Gomes, Vaclav Kunes, Wang Yuanyuan 王媛, Shen Wei 沈伟, Jitti Chompee, Fernando Melo, Marguerite Donlon. Seine Werke werden weltweit aufgeführt: L’Opéra Garnier Paris, Saitama Arts Center Japan, Nederlands Dans Theater Den Haag, Het National Ballet Amsterdam, Pretty Ugly Dance Company Freiburg, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Bayerisches Staatstheater München, Ballet de Monte Carlo, Norrdans Schweden und New National Theater Tokyo. Dirk Haubrich lebt in Berlin, wo ihn eine Zusammenarbeit mit Yoko Seyama verbindet.
